The eclipseRx mobile application provides users with a comprehensive tool to monitor their sun exposure by tracking daily hours of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It calculates a personalized truSun™ exposure level tailored to individual skin types, sunscreen usage, and real-time UV data. The app seamlessly connects with the eclipseRx device, a solar-powered wearable that functions as both a UV sun monitor and activity tracker.

This system offers an innovative approach to sun safety, targeting individuals who frequently spend time outdoors and are concerned about the health and aesthetic impacts of sun exposure. The eclipseRx device is equipped with sensors that measure UVA and UVB radiation, providing accurate records of UV exposure. Through synchronization with the app, users can build a personal sun profile that includes skin type, SPF levels of sunscreen used, application frequency, and other relevant parameters.

The application actively monitors cumulative UV exposure and issues timely alerts at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the user’s designated truSun™ threshold. Notifications are delivered via push alerts on mobile devices, accompanied by gentle vibrations from the wearable device and LED indicators on the device itself. These alerts adjust dynamically based on UV index strength, individual skin characteristics, sunscreen SPF, and application frequency.

Developed under the guidance of a board-certified dermatologist, the eclipseRx system aims to enhance sun safety practices by providing personalized insights and real-time alerts, promoting healthier outdoor experiences. The application is compatible with iPhone models 6 and newer.
